Kutch Diary

This day has been crazy to say the least.
I woke up at 4 to meet a carpenter in Khavda (only 49kms away,I'm enthu about stuff like that....:-/....)
Got back to Kala Raksha, packed up my stuff in 1/2 an hr(I knew I might have to leave today or tomm)
hitched a ride to Bhuj to meet with the curator of Aina Mahal.
Found out my ticket to Delhi has not been confirmed (Big surprise there)
Booked myself a train ticket from Ahmedabad, and then a bus ticket to Ahmedabad
Rushed back to Sumrasar-I had an hour and 32minutes exactly to spare
travel 28kms to and forth...Piece of cake!....the driver, I'm afraid might suffer from a stroke later today  :-/
Got my stuff, dumped it in the car,
hugged the village kids who came to see me off...
waved to everyone else as we drove (No! not into the sunset) out of the village.
drove past city traffic transporter style( cyclerickshaws, crawling buses and cows-what the hell are they doing out at this hour?)
reached the travel agency's office just in time(panting, sweating and grinning)
only to be greeted by a balding receptionist with the constipated look "Itna jaldi kaiko aaya?"
I wanted to jhaap him with my kolapuri chapaal.......but ,  I restrained:-/

Its 10.45pm ,the bus is actually pretty awesome,
I don't curse my luck for missing the train ride with pervs and potential rapists looking co-passengers anymore.
I cant get sleep though.....must have something to do with the fact that my bladder is BURSTING
You see, I've been drinking water to deal with the stress of the day
...dry state remember  :-/

Soooooo, like I was saying.I cant get sleep,so I decided to write a post :D.
this "Nostalgia" is faster than my high speed broadband connection (yeah! you! Reliance cheats)
its been what?...23minutes and I already miss it SO much  :(

sticking my head out the vehicle each time we passed the so called crocadile infested Rudramata,
hoping to spot one
Never did.

But, I did find one swimming lazily in a pond ,dangerously close to a bunch of kids playing in the water. He however took a 180 degrees turn and swam in the opposite direction. It was only later that i found out that 'Magar' is the communitys pet croc...fed by the locals

  1. Tanya, what gorgeous images! I've spent a quarter of an hour just... gazing. After hearing all about it, it's so cool to see. :D
