Maharao Lakhpatji and my favorite room :)

Fuvara Mahal !! built during the flamboyant rule of Lakhpatji in 1750

I wish I could have seen the Mahal in its glory days .The musically gifted Maharao sitting majestically on his intricately carved marble throne and zardozi embroidered takia , surrounded by the most talented musicians in the state .The light of the Belgian Chandeliers and Venetian glass lamps reflecting off the perfumed water that created a moat around the little island ensuring the room remain cool. The beautiful sound created by the melody of the various intruments and the trickling of the water from the numerous fountains bounching off the wooden ceiling making it echo.

  1. Sigh. After that description, I can almost picture being there. We really were born at least two centuries too late.
