bit of heaven, round the corner

The first time I stumbled upon Lodhi garden was in the summer of 2007. I was done with my weekend class at the Alliance Francaise and was searching for an auto. It was 39 degrees ,the heat was literally radiating off the road, the usually pleasant walk down Lodhi road was now torturous and to my dismay there was no auto in sight. I decided to walk back to Alliance , figuring the library would be more sympathetic. While crossing the road I noticed a beautiful heritage structure behind the rusting gates of Lodhi garden . The garden- colourful as spring looked quite inviting. I was auscultating whether I should ditch my plan and explore the garden . I'm glad I did. Every weekend after this I would spend an hour or two after class here, find a peaceful spot and complete my homework...

  1. What a relief to the digitally blind eye to savor the greens of Lodhi garden. It for sure features among my favorite hangouts in Delhi. O second thoughts, not really hangouts for I prefer to be there alone soaking in the anonymity that it offers . Loved all the photographs! :)
